Getting started
Install Regimen, apply the Clinic preset, and connect the products, metafields, apps, and menus the theme expects.
1. Install the theme
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Under Add theme, upload the
Regimen.zipfile you received. - Click Customize to open the theme editor. To make it live, use Actions → Publish.
2. Apply the Clinic preset
Regimen ships with the Clinic preset — a coordinated set of colors, typography, and defaults. In the theme editor, open Theme settings and confirm the Clinic style is applied, then adjust to your brand (see Theme settings).
3. Set up products & metafields
Several of Regimen's features read from product metafields. Create these definitions once under Settings → Custom data → Products, then fill them in per product. Every one of them is optional — features gracefully hide or fall back when a metafield is empty.
| Metafield | Type | Powers | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
custom.coa_files | List of files (or list of URLs) | COA viewer | Upload each product's Certificate of Analysis PDF(s). |
custom.supplement_facts_rows | List | Supplement facts (table rows) | Structured rows for the facts panel. |
custom.supplement_facts | Multi-line / rich text | Supplement facts (body) | Optional; used as a fallback if rows aren't set. |
custom.short_benefit | Single line text | Product cards | A short benefit line shown on product cards. |
spr.reviews | Managed by app | Product reviews | Created automatically by the Shopify Product Reviews app. |
4. Connect apps (optional)
| Feature | Requires |
|---|---|
| Subscribe & Save | A subscriptions app that creates selling plans (e.g. Shopify Subscriptions). Attach a selling plan to a product and the option appears automatically. |
| Product reviews / star ratings | The Shopify Product Reviews app (provides the spr.reviews metafield). |
5. Build your menus
Under Content → Menus, make sure you have a main-menu (used by the header) and a footer menu. The header and footer reference these by default. You can point the header/footer link-list settings at any menu you like in the editor.
6. Test before you publish
- Add a product that's on sale, one that's sold out, and one with multiple variants.
- Check the cart drawer, search, and the customer account pages.
- Preview on mobile and desktop.
